S4C Hansh commissioned a documentary that would explore the lived experience of speaking Welsh as a second language, a subject that resonates deeply with a large portion of Wales's Welsh-speaking population but is rarely given dedicated screen time.
Approach
Tinint brought together four contributors with different journeys into the Welsh language. Jess Davies, Gav Murphy, Lily Beau and Nick Yeo each shared their personal experiences with honesty and vulnerability, creating a conversation that felt genuine rather than performative.
Outcome
Ein Hail Lais gave voice to a common but underrepresented experience, resonating strongly with Hansh's audience and sparking wider conversation about identity, belonging and what it means to speak Welsh.
